Meet our Staff
Owner and CEO
Desmond Scott is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, NC. Upon his graduation in 2013, he founded health and wellness enterprise, Prime Athletic Training & Fitness Institute. A former Duke Football standout, he was the first person in Duke History, and the 3rd in ACC history, to amass over 1000 yards rushing, receiving, and kick off return. He chose to bypass a career in professional football to use his gifts, knowledge, and talent to help others become active, or take their existing fitness lifestyles to the next level. Knowing the importance of overall health and wellness, he made it his duty to provide his community with the tools needed to embrace a healthier lifestyle.
Desmond understands the importance of guidance and empowerment, and serves as a mentor to many in his community. He is a skilled motivational speaker and has shared his knowledge, passion, and insights at a number of speaking engagements. He has dedicated himself to creating an environment where Faith, Family, and Fitness are the driving factors in helping each individual become a better version of themselves.
Rashard joined the Prime family as General Manager in 2017. A native of Durham, NC; Rashard comes to us with 4 years of experience as Assistant General Manager in commercial fitness facilities. Daniel is Prime’s newest Life Trainer, having joined the team in late 2016. He is from Durham, NC via East St. Louis, Illinois. Daniel has served overseas in the US Army, and is a NASM certified personal trainer with over two years of experience. He decided to become a personal trainer to help others experience the wholly transformational effects of a good exercise routine. He loves finding new things to work into his training regiments so that no two days are ever the same for him or his clients.
When he’s not at the gym, you can find him playing at the park with his son, cooking for his family, reading up on mindfulness and exercise, or maybe even taking a ballet class! He is excited to be a part of the Prime family, and is ready help all of his clients define their “better”, and work with them every step of the way to get there.
Morine is the newest addition to the Prime family. She is a First generation American from Haiti. A native of Connecticut, she is a fairly new resident of North Carolina. After graduating from Boston College in 2012, she worked as a Registered Nurse at two level II trauma emergency departments in Bridgeport, CT and Manhattan, New York.
Morine moved to Winston Salem, NC in 2015 to begin the Bridge to the Doctorate Program. In May 2017, she graduated from Winston Salem State University and currently works as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She’s enrolled in the PhD program at Duke University’s School of Nursing with a special research interest in infertility in black women.
For fun she enjoys working out, listening to podcasts, dancing, laughing, and meeting new people.
In her role here at Prime, Morine will collect vital signs, measurements, and other body metrics to provide data and feedback that will make tracking progress and reaching fitness goals more efficient. She will also assess goals, sources of inspiration, and where each client is currently in their fitness journey, to work side by side with each individual to ensure a well rounded regiment to achieve health and fitness goals.
